We have EXCITING news! Reya Ghiardi and Miriam Miljour, two leads in the November production of Hadestown, have been nominated to compete in the Sutton Foster Awards!
This is the Michigan High School level of the national awards program the Jimmy’s, which is the high school version of the Tony’s!
They will travel to Michigan State University to perform in May. The top two Michigan students will travel to NYC in June.

Our Business Management classes had the pleasure of hearing from Ben Johnson and Kobe Manzo from NMU. They spoke about the importance of self-reflection in discovering your passions and how to advocate for yourself to create new job opportunities. They also highlighted the similarities between coaching a team and running a business—both require strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

In celebration of this year’s National Rural Health Day, recognized on November 20th, the Literacy Legacy Fund of Michigan, the Michigan Center for Rural Health and the Northern Michigan University Center for Rural Health hosted the National Rural Health Day Essay Contest. The contest was open to high school seniors who reside and attend school in the Upper Peninsula, are college bound in fall 2026 and intend to pursue a healthcare career in human medicine.

We were fortunate to give a tour to our Sister City delegates from Kajaani, Finland today! We are extremely proud of our student leaders: Elle Debolt and Eleanor Stevenson for highlighting our programs, Izzie Cangemi for documenting our tour, Caden Laurn for the MAPS infographic, Annalee Johnson & Mercedes DesJardins for designing and producing the t-shirt gifts for them! We have the best students!










It was an honor today to have our new MSHS American flag raised by our local veterans from American Legion Post #44!
